FAQs about the process for volunteers and requirements
About becoming a volunteer
As soon as there’s a space for you, one of the Re-engage team will be in touch to book either an introductory call or an online induction.
If Re-engage is right for you, we’ll send you an email and ask you to start the checks process. We have many volunteer roles, and some roles require more checks than others, but every Re-engage volunteer must provide one reference and have an ID check.
Once your checks are complete, we’ll email you the links to your volunteer training.
Once you’ve finished your training, we’ll be in touch to get you started.
About the call companion service
Call companions will be expected make 2-4 calls each month. These calls normally last for about 30 minutes.
All new volunteers to our call companion service will need to apply via our the Re-engage website, attend an online induction, complete an online ID check, and provide a character reference.
Process for existing volunteers
Yes. There are many other things you can also do to help us, either through giving us a shout out on social media, letting your friends and family know about our volunteering roles or by even making a small donation to us.
Support for ID and reference checks
As soon as you’ve had either an introductory call or an online induction, we’ll send you an email and ask you to start the checks process.
Please check your spam folder, as our emails might have ended up there. You could also add us as to your safe sender list (your email provider should have instructions on how to do this).
If you still can’t find anything, please contact the Re-engage team at knowledge@reengage.org.uk.
