Please support this year’s Advent of Change Christmas campaign
Since its launch in 2018, the social enterprise Advent of Change has raised over three quarters of a million pounds for charities, including Re-engage.
The concept was the idea of Kristina Salceanu, who set up Advent of Change from her kitchen table alongside a full-time job. She designed and created a beautiful advent calendar and donates money from the sale of each one to a range of good causes; behind each calendar window is a message shining a light on a charity supported by the initiative.
Re-engage director of fundraising and communications, Kitty Blackwell, said: “Many of the thousands of older people who are in our tea party and activity groups, or who have a call companion, describe Re-engage as a lifeline.
“It’s vital that we don’t abandon older people to lives lived in loneliness and isolation. Initiatives like Kristina’s make it possible for us to continue supporting lonely and isolated older people. The donations we receive from the sale of her Advent of Change calendars and other festive products help us deliver much needed services all year round.
“We’re very grateful to the Advent of Change team for once again choosing us to be part of this year’s project and of course, to the people who buy the products.”
Kristina said: “Advent of Change began with one simple idea: to give the gift of giving at Christmas. And that small idea has captured the imagination of so many people already, and we really do believe that this simple concept has the power to change the world.
"We’re a non-profit with a mission: to help make the world a more fair, equal and sustainable place.”
This year, the Advent of Change festive range includes a selection of advent calendars, candles, a gift book and pin badge.
