Re-engage remembers
More than 100 supporters and staff from community groups and charities joined a moving Remembrance Day ceremony at a Re-engage tea party in Stirling.
Wreaths were laid at the Bellfield Centre, Livilands Gate, following a two-minute silence for those who died in armed conflicts, with a piped tribute led by veterans of the Argyll and Sutherland Highlanders.
Among those attending were representatives from Forth Valley Men’s Shed; the Royal Voluntary Service; Retired and Senior Volunteer Programme; the Conservation Volunteers; Volunteering Matters; the Royal Horticultural Society; Clackmannanshire and Stirling Health and Social Care Partnership, and the NHS Forth Valley, which manages the centre.
Re-engage engagement team members, Esther Lynn, Helen Shortall and Kelly Christopher attended to ensure things ran smoothly and to build relationships.
Esther said: “It was a very moving occasion but also great that so many groups could come together in a collaborative way. We made some amazing contacts who we hope to work with in the future.
“The Men’s Shed and the RHS have both said they would like to get involved with the tea parties, so all in all it was a huge success. It really was a fantastic event.”
