Conversations that encourage reporting scams

Although some older people may already have a trusted network of friends and family members around them, many don’t. Re-engage volunteers may become trusted people for some of our older people. If this happens it is important that you reassure them that there is nothing to be ashamed or embarrassed about, but they should act quickly to minimise their losses to stop it from happening to someone else.

There is support and advice for older people who have been the victim of a scam or a fraud and knowing how to encourage and support an older person to access this help is essential.
